SEP 18: As part of Seva Pakhwada celebrations, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav led a tree plantation drive in New Delhi under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on 18 September 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister urged every citizen to plant a tree in the name of Mother Earth, emphasizing that this symbolic act contributes to both environmental conservation and collective responsibility. He noted that the ongoing ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign reflects India’s strong resolve to protect nature while promoting sustainable lifestyles.
The plantation drive, held at Central Ridge, PBG Polo Ground, witnessed the participation of dignitaries including Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, Delhi Environment Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and around 70 diplomats from various countries, alongside senior government officials.
Shri Yadav highlighted that the campaign, aligned with the Seva Pakhwada initiative marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, has evolved into a people’s movement encouraging citizens to engage directly in environmental action. He called upon individuals, institutions, and communities to join the mission and make tree plantation a widespread civic habit.
The event underscored India’s commitment to green growth, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship, strengthening the collective resolve to create a healthier planet for future generations.
