OCT 07: Minister Javid Dar conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development works under the Municipal Committee Watergam, reaffirming the Government’s focus on speed, transparency, and accountability in public projects.

During the review meeting, the Minister assessed the progress of several Capex 2025–26 projects, including the construction of a new office complex, drainage improvement works, and other civic infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing urban facilities and living standards in the area.

Minister Dar directed officials to expedite the pace of work while maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring that projects strictly adhere to approved timelines and budgetary provisions. He underscored that every development initiative must reflect the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s vision of prosperity and efficient governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

He emphasized that transparency and public participation are key to achieving sustainable urban growth. “Development should not only be visible on paper but must translate into real benefits for citizens,” the Minister remarked, urging departments to adopt a people-first approach in planning and execution.

Reviewing the status of civic amenities, he instructed engineers and officers to prioritize essential works such as waste management, drainage upgrades, and beautification drives. He also stressed the need to ensure proper coordination between departments for the smooth execution of Capex projects.

Minister Dar reiterated the Government’s commitment to balanced regional development and citizen welfare, assuring that timely completion of projects will remain a top priority for the administration. He also lauded the efforts of local officials and stakeholders for their continued support in advancing Watergam’s development agenda.
