OCT 31: Government MAM College, Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Science, Technology and Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Department of Science and Technology, UT of J&K, observed Vigilance Awareness Day under the theme “Our Duty, Our Dignity, Vigilance for Prosperity.” The event aimed to promote transparency, integrity, and accountability among students and staff in accordance with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Government of India.
Dr. Ankur Mahajan, Registrar, Cluster University Jammu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Shruti Khanna, Assistant Director, JKSTIC, was the Special Guest. The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Varsha Kapoor, followed by Principal Prof. Archana Kaul administering the Integrity Pledge to reaffirm the participants’ commitment to moral values and corruption-free conduct.
As part of the observance, Essay Writing and Slogan Writing competitions were held to inspire responsible citizenship. Vidhi Sharma (Government College of Education), Anirudh Sharma (Government MAM College Jammu), and Ridham (Government SPMR College of Commerce) secured the top three positions in essay writing, while Soniakshi Sharma, Marusha Rajput, and Kajal Devi bagged the first, second, and third positions respectively in slogan writing.
The jury for the competitions included Prof. Seema Sudan, Dr. Prem Singh, and Prof. Shivali Gupta. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahajan emphasized the role of integrity as a cornerstone of personal and professional excellence, while Ms. Khanna discussed the practical aspects of vigilance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jeevan Dhar, Convenor, acknowledging the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty in upholding ethical values and good governance.
