J&K Leadership Engages with CCIK, Pledges Time-Bound Action on Business Community’s Issues
DEC 6: In a significant outreach to the business fraternity, Forest Minister Javed Ahmed Rana and Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani attended the executive meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK), assuring members that all genuine concerns raised by the business community will be addressed promptly and effectively.
The engagement reflects the government’s broader commitment to strengthening industry–government collaboration, improving the business environment, and promoting sustainable development across Jammu & Kashmir.
Assurance of Time-Bound Action on Key Business Issues
Both Rana and Wani emphasized that the administration is fully aware of the challenges faced by traders, entrepreneurs and tourism-linked businesses in the region. They assured CCIK that no genuine concern would go unattended, and necessary directions will be issued to take time-bound action on priority issues.
The ministers reaffirmed that consistent dialogue with trade bodies is essential for improving the economic landscape and ensuring that policymaking aligns with ground realities.
Focus on Tourism, Environment and Sustainable Growth
Recognizing Kashmir’s dependence on tourism, the leadership highlighted the importance of ensuring that development and conservation go hand in hand.
Forest Minister Rana stressed that sustainable management of forests, eco-tourism promotion and preservation of natural assets remain central to the region’s long-term resilience and tourist appeal.
Advisor Wani echoed this sentiment, noting that a strong tourism sector requires business-friendly governance, improved infrastructure and predictable administrative processes. The government is committed to ensuring these systems stay responsive and transparent.

During the meeting, CCIK office bearers discussed a range of issues affecting Kashmir’s business growth, including regulatory hurdles, infrastructure gaps, tourism promotion needs and the revival of traditional industries.
