Vijay Saraf has been elected as the Secretary of the Amar Singh Club, Jammu, following elections held for the Club’s 11-member Managing Committee. The polling was conducted peacefully at the Club premises and witnessed enthusiastic participation from members, reflecting strong democratic engagement within one of Jammu’s most prominent social institutions.
The voting process commenced at 11:30 am and concluded at 5:00 pm, during which over 2,600 members exercised their franchise. Vijay Saraf emerged victorious by securing the highest number of votes among candidates contesting for the post of Secretary.
Managing Committee Elected
Along with the election of the Secretary, ten other members were elected to the Managing Committee based on the votes polled. The newly elected committee members include:

Constitutional Structure of the Club
As per the Club’s constitutional framework, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir serves as the President of the Amar Singh Club, while the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, functions as the Vice President. Additionally, provisions exist for nomination of members to the Managing Committee by the President to ensure balanced representation and smooth governance.

The high voter turnout underscored the active involvement of Club members in its decision-making processes. The elections were conducted under established rules and procedures, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
