Minister Javid Ahmad Dar Meets Public Delegations in Srinagar, Reaffirms Commitment to Transparent Governance

DEC 30 : Minister Javid Ahmad Dar today held a series of meetings with public delegations from different parts of Kashmir at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, reinforcing the government’s focus on responsive and people-centric governance. During the interactions, the Minister patiently listened to a wide range of issues and assured the delegations that their genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound and transparent manner.

The delegations raised matters related to civic amenities, development works, public services and other local issues affecting daily life. Acknowledging the importance of direct engagement with citizens, the Minister said such interactions help the administration understand ground realities and respond more effectively to public needs.

Assurance of Timely Relief and Effective Solutions

Minister Javid Ahmad Dar reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring timely relief and practical solutions to issues brought forward by the people. He directed concerned officials to examine each grievance on merit and take prompt action in accordance with established procedures.

Emphasising accountability, the Minister stated that delays in addressing public grievances undermine trust in institutions and would not be tolerated. He underlined the need for departments to work in coordination and ensure that services and benefits reach the intended beneficiaries without unnecessary hurdles.

Focus on Transparent and Citizen-Centric Governance

Highlighting the administration’s broader governance approach, the Minister said that transparency, accountability and prompt grievance redressal remain the cornerstones of the government’s functioning in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the government is making continuous efforts to strengthen institutional mechanisms so that citizens can easily access services and have their concerns resolved efficiently.

The Minister also stressed that public representatives and officials must remain accessible to the people, noting that regular public outreach programmes play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the administration and citizens.

The interactions at the Civil Secretariat reflected the government’s emphasis on dialogue as a means to strengthen public trust. Several delegation members appreciated the opportunity to directly present their issues and welcomed the Minister’s assurance of follow-up action.

Minister Javid Ahmad Dar noted that constructive feedback from citizens is vital for improving governance outcomes. He encouraged people to use established grievance redressal platforms and assured them that their voices would be heard and acted upon in a fair and impartial manner.
