Jan 22: The government today held extensive interactions with various public and individual delegations at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, providing a platform for citizens to voice their concerns, demands and developmental issues directly before the administration.

During the meetings, the issues raised by delegations spanned a wide range of sectors, including public services, infrastructure development, employment, welfare schemes and local administrative challenges. Officials listened carefully to each representation and assured the participants that all genuine grievances would be examined and addressed with priority.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to pro-people governance, it was emphasised that citizen engagement remains central to policy formulation and implementation. The government reiterated that transparent, accessible and responsive governance is essential to building public trust and ensuring inclusive development across Jammu and Kashmir.

The interactions also highlighted the importance of timely grievance redressal mechanisms. Departments were directed to follow up on the issues raised and ensure swift action within the prescribed timelines. Special emphasis was laid on resolving long-pending matters and improving coordination among departments to enhance service delivery.

Officials noted that regular dialogue with the public helps identify grassroots challenges and refine policies to reflect the needs of the people. Such engagements also strengthen accountability and enable the administration to respond effectively to local concerns.

The government assured delegations that feedback received during the interactions would be integrated into decision-making processes, with a focus on people-centric solutions and efficient governance. Citizens were encouraged to continue engaging with the administration through established grievance redressal platforms.

These interactions form part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen participatory governance and ensure that public welfare remains at the core of its developmental agenda.
