Jan 25: The Chief Minister today continued the ongoing series of pre-budget consultations, holding detailed interactions with legislators from constituencies across South and North Kashmir to gather their inputs, priorities, and developmental concerns.

The consultations form a key part of the government’s participatory budget-making process, aimed at ensuring that the upcoming Budget reflects the real needs and aspirations of people across different regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Legislators shared constituency-specific issues, sectoral requirements, and development proposals, focusing on infrastructure, livelihoods, public services, social welfare, and regional development balance.

Addressing the participants, the Chief Minister said that these discussions are essential for preparing a people-centric, inclusive, and regionally balanced Budget. He подчеркed that meaningful engagement with elected representatives helps align policy planning with grassroots realities and ensures that development initiatives are responsive to local needs.

“These consultations will play a crucial role in shaping a Budget that reflects regional priorities and promotes balanced and inclusive development across Jammu and Kashmir,” the Chief Minister said, reiterating the government’s commitment to equitable growth and fair resource allocation.

The CM also highlighted that the pre-budget exercise is not just a financial process but a governance mechanism aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and participatory decision-making. Inputs received from legislators will be carefully examined and integrated into sectoral planning and budgetary proposals.

The series of pre-budget meetings, being held with legislators, administrative departments, and key stakeholders, is part of a broader effort to ensure that the upcoming Budget addresses regional disparities, strengthens service delivery, supports economic growth, and improves the overall quality of life for citizens across the Union Territory.

The government has reaffirmed that the final Budget will focus on inclusive development, regional equity, infrastructure strengthening, social welfare, employment generation, and sustainable growth, in line with the long-term development vision for Jammu and Kashmir.
