8 May: POONCH: A women-led social organisation, Insaniyat Zindabad, paid heartfelt tribute to civilians who lost their lives during cross-border shelling in Poonch amid Operation Sindoor last year.
Members of the NGO gathered to remember the victims, including children, and offered prayers in their honour. The tribute programme was organised as a mark of solidarity with families affected by the shelling and to acknowledge the suffering endured by border residents during the conflict.
Participants observed moments of silence and highlighted the importance of peace, compassion, and communal harmony in times of crisis. The organisation emphasized that innocent civilians often bear the heaviest burden during cross-border tensions.
During the event, members also expressed gratitude toward the Indian Army and the Government of India for their response and support provided to affected communities during the operation. Speakers noted that timely assistance and security measures helped residents cope with difficult circumstances.
