7 June: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the application window for Class 12 re-evaluation and verification of marks will close tonight, urging students to complete the process before the deadline expires.
Students who are dissatisfied with their examination results or believe there may be discrepancies in the evaluation of their answer sheets have been given an opportunity to apply through the board’s prescribed online procedure. Once the application window closes, no further requests are expected to be entertained under the current schedule.
The re-evaluation process forms an important part of the post-result mechanism, allowing students to seek verification and review of their marks. Through this process, candidates can request a recheck of awarded marks and, where applicable, obtain copies of evaluated answer books before applying for re-evaluation of specific questions.
CBSE officials have advised students and parents to carefully follow the instructions available on the board’s official portal while submitting applications. Applicants are required to complete the process within the stipulated timeline and pay the prescribed fee for the relevant service.
The board introduced a structured system in recent years to enhance transparency and provide students with an opportunity to address concerns regarding their examination results. Educational experts note that such mechanisms help build confidence in the evaluation system and ensure fairness in the assessment process.
For thousands of students across the country, the outcome of Class 12 examinations plays a crucial role in higher education admissions and career planning. As a result, many students opt for verification or re-evaluation when they feel their performance may not have been accurately reflected in the final marks.
Education experts advise students to carefully assess their scores before applying for re-evaluation. While marks can increase following a review, they may also remain unchanged or, in some cases, decrease if errors are identified during the process.
The CBSE Class 12 results this year witnessed participation from lakhs of students from schools across India and abroad. Following the declaration of results, the board opened the re-evaluation and verification process to address student concerns in a transparent and systematic manner.
Parents and students have been encouraged to avoid waiting until the final hours and complete their applications as early as possible to prevent technical issues or last-minute delays.
The board is expected to process applications after the deadline and release revised results, where applicable, following completion of the verification and re-evaluation procedures. Students are advised to regularly monitor official CBSE notifications for updates regarding the status of their applications and result revisions.
With the deadline ending tonight, eligible students seeking a review of their marks have only a limited time remaining to submit their requests through the official channels.
