Srinagar, August 6: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 37 Next of Kins (NoKs) of civilians who lost their lives in terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative was presented as part of the administration’s continued efforts to support families affected by terrorism through compassionate employment.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said the appointments represent more than government jobs—they symbolize the nation’s commitment to justice, remembrance, and solidarity with the families of innocent civilians who became victims of terrorism.
He reiterated that the government remains firmly committed to standing with terror victims and ensuring that their families receive the support and dignity they deserve. According to the LG, the initiative reflects the administration’s resolve to provide assistance to those who have endured immense personal loss due to acts of terror.
Manoj Sinha also stressed that terrorism has caused immense suffering over the years, claiming the lives of many innocent people. He said it is the responsibility of society and the administration to ensure that the sacrifices and suffering of these families are neither forgotten nor ignored.
The appointment letters are expected to provide financial stability and long-term support to the affected families, helping them rebuild their lives while securing employment opportunities within government services.
