The Social Welfare Department of Doda has urged eligible students from economically and socially disadvantaged communities to complete their scholarship applications by September 15, 2026, as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen access to educational assistance.
The department is implementing a range of welfare programmes aimed at supporting senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and children across the district. These initiatives are intended to provide financial and social security to vulnerable sections of society.
Nearly 40,000 Beneficiaries Receiving Social Security Pensions
According to the department, nearly 40,000 beneficiaries in Doda are currently receiving social security pensions. The assistance is being provided under various welfare schemes designed to support eligible residents who require continued financial assistance.
The department has also appealed to eligible students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and D-Notified Tribes to apply for the available scholarship schemes within the prescribed deadline.
SC Students Advised to Apply by September 15
In particular, SC students whose annual family income is up to ₹2.5 lakh have been advised to submit their scholarship applications by September 15.
Students meeting the eligibility conditions are encouraged not to wait until the final day and to complete the application process with the required information and documents.
The initiative is expected to help eligible students access financial support for their education and reduce the economic barriers faced by families from disadvantaged communities.
