BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 20: Department of Animal husbandry Budgam organized Mega-awareness Programme on “Pradhan Mantri-Formalization of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme (PM-FME Scheme) ” which was held at Block Veterinary Office Chadoora.
The Programme was hosted by Dr. Sheikh Abdul Hai, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Budgam and District Nodal officer PM-FME Scheme; Area marketing Officer Budgam and Block Veterinary Officer Chadoora.
The Programme was attended by the Progressive Farmers associated with different farming practices, unemployed educated youth of the area, different Self Help groups, PRI’s, Bankers and experts from the Horticulture, Agriculture, and other Departments.
At the start of the Programme, the Chief Animal Husbandry officer Budgam welcomed the farmers and other participants and threw light on processing of milk to dairy products, value addition of milk, horticulture & agricultural products as a Viable Livelihood option for Income & Employment Generation.
He sensitized farmers towards the potentials in establishment of Micro food processing units under “Pradhan Mantri-Formalization of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme.”
Dr. Javed Ahmed Superintendent DVH Budgam briefed about the detailed guidelines of PM-FME Scheme and made the participants aware about application process on the designated online portal.
Later experts from the different departments educated the participants on how to convert the agricultural products, Horticultural products and the fresh whole milk into various processed products which would help them to fetch higher income and provide employment for other people. At the end of event many progressive farmers showed interest & full motivation in establishing different micro food processing units under PM-FME Scheme (ODOP).
