10 DEC,JAMMU: Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria Distributed dustbin along with Swachh Bharat Committe Chairman Hardeep Mankotia, Health and Sanitation Committee Chairman Raj Kumar Tarkhan at Ward 45, Digiana in Bahu Constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that we are providing dustbins free of the cost to the Shopkeepers/general public of the said area and appealed to them, to throw the garbage in the dustbins only and not outside in drains or lanes and only to handover the garbage to the Sanitation workers when they come collect that garbage. He also appreciated all the stake holders and IEC team for awaring the public.
Baldev Singh Billawaria Deputy Mayor, Jammu, stating some important facts regarding the initiative and solid waste management said that all the citizens of Jammu are to take part in swachta sarvekshan. The main objective of the swachta sarvekshan survey is to ensure citizen participation in solid waste management and making jammu city garbage free and open defecation free.
Deputy Mayor of Jammu, said that it will
help in maintaining cleanliness in the area. He emphasized that cleanliness is the responsibility of each and every citizen and urged the people to use the dustbins to dispose of their waste and keep their surroundings clean. He said that this initiative will help in making Jammu a cleaner and more hygienic city and that it is important for the city to be clean and beautiful. Satpal Choudhary, Vinod Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Katty Singh, Ashwani Kumar and JMC officials were also present.
