Kathua Admin intensifies Voter Awareness Campaigns to Bolster Electoral System

KATHUA, APRIL 13: In furtherance to its resolve to Bolster Democratic System, District Election Office Kathua is taking varied measures to encourage voter participation through systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities.

 

The district has already launched several initiatives, which will continue till 20th April 2023 under the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR-2023).

 

As part of the SVEEP program, the district election office is organizing a series of awareness campaigns and initiatives to increase voter participation. These activities include awareness rallies, Pledges, signature campaigns, and door to door campaigning, among others.

 

The district election office has also set up Voter Facilitation Centres at all the Polling Stations where citizens can register to vote, update their voter ID cards, and find other election-related information. The centres are equipped with trained personnel to provide necessary assistance to voters and it also provides a platform for the dissemination of voter awareness literature.

 

Furthermore, the District Information Centre Kathua has also launched a social media campaign to reach out to young eligible & Prospective voters by sharing information about the ongoing activities besides disseminating information about the Electoral Process.The campaign includes the use of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to engage with the youth and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.

 

Besides, the district election office has partnered with local schools and colleges to spread awareness about the importance of voting among students. This initiative aims to encourage students who have attained the age of 18 to get enrolled and participate in the upcoming elections.

 

Pertinently, the SVEEP program is receiving tremendous support and enthusiastic response from all the citizens who have pledged their support to become an active participant in the electoral process.
