OCT 07: The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), has launched a five-day residential workshop on “Biosafety & Outbreak Simulation Training 2025” at the MAHE campus, Manipal, Karnataka. The workshop, running from October 6–10, aims to enhance biosafety practices, outbreak response capabilities, and public health preparedness among Homoeopathy research scientists.
Following a rigorous online assessment across 33 CCRH institutes in 22 states/UTs, 30 talented scientists from 14 states were selected for this specialized training. The program equips participants with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to epidemics, pandemics, and emerging health challenges.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH, who highlighted the potential of Homoeopathy in supporting epidemic and pandemic response and emphasized the value of collaboration between CCRH and MAHE. Dr. Chiranjay Mukhopadhyay, Director, MIV, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, while Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao K., Pro-Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences, MAHE, lauded the initiative and assured full institutional support for ongoing collaborative research projects.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CCRH and MAHE to facilitate research, education, and training collaborations. The MoU was signed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik and Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, MAHE.
The workshop is coordinated by Dr. Suhana P. Azis, Dr. Sreekanth Gopinathan Pillai, Dr. Sudheesh N., and Mr. Anup Jayaram, who will guide participants through intensive biosafety modules, outbreak simulations, and hands-on training exercises.
This initiative marks a significant step in building a resilient public health framework in India, strengthening the role of Homoeopathy research in epidemic preparedness, and fostering a robust collaborative ecosystem between CCRH and MAHE.
