JUNE 14: A group of enthusiastic bikers from Kerala, visiting the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the ‘Chalo LoC’ initiative, met with the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha. The meeting highlighted their remarkable journey and their mission to promote peace and unity across the country.
The bikers embarked on their long and meaningful expedition from Kalady, Kerala — the birthplace of the revered philosopher and spiritual leader Adi Shankaracharya. Their destination was the Sharda Devi Temple located in Teetwal, Kupwara, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The primary purpose of their journey was to pay homage to the victims of terrorism and to spread a strong message of national integration, harmony, and collective resilience against violence.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha welcomed the bikers and appreciated their dedication to such a noble cause. He lauded the group for taking this courageous and thoughtful step to bridge cultural distances and foster a spirit of brotherhood among the people of different states. The LG highlighted how such initiatives reinforce the values of peace, unity, and solidarity that are at the core of India’s cultural and spiritual identity.
The journey of these bikers not only reflects their personal commitment but also symbolizes a greater message for society — one that encourages people to come together, rise above divisive forces, and celebrate the strength of the nation’s unity in diversity. By choosing the route from Kalady to Teetwal, the bikers connected two spiritually significant locations, honoring both the ancient wisdom of Adi Shankaracharya and the enduring resilience of the people living near the LoC.
During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor also extended his best wishes to the bikers for the remainder of their journey. He expressed hope that their message would inspire many more youth to engage in constructive activities that strengthen national unity and promote communal harmony.
The ‘Chalo LoC’ initiative has garnered widespread appreciation as an example of youth-led efforts contributing positively to society. The bikers’ mission serves as a reminder of the power of individual and collective action in spreading messages of peace, love, and unity across the nation.
