OCT 31: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of key Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) schemes, including PMAY-G, Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), and Himayat (DDU-GKY). The meeting was attended by Secretary, RDD, Aijaz Asad; DG Rural Sanitation, Anoo Malhotra; MD Himayat, Rajneesh Gupta; and other senior officials.
The Chief Secretary directed the department to adopt a mission-mode approach to ensure the timely completion of all pending PMAY-G houses and to expedite new placement-linked training plans under Himayat. He emphasized strict monitoring, data-based evaluation, and accountability-driven implementation.
Briefing the meeting, Secretary RDD informed that J&K has achieved 95% completion under PMAY-G, with 3,18,542 houses completed out of 3,34,718 sanctioned. The remaining 16,176 houses are at various construction stages and targeted for completion by December 31, 2025. Under PMAY-G 2.0, 5,02,101 surveys have been conducted to identify beneficiaries, while 5,061 houses have been approved for families affected by natural calamities.
Under SBM-G, 98.38% villages have achieved ODF+ Model status, with 6,115 out of 6,216 villages certified. The remaining are expected to achieve full coverage by mid-November 2025.
Reviewing Himayat, it was informed that 35,682 youth have been trained and 14,734 placed across sectors. A counselling-cum-call centre has been established with IIT Jammu to provide post-placement support.
Concluding the review, the Chief Secretary directed all officers to ensure real-time progress tracking, timely project delivery, and transparent governance to maximize the benefits of rural development initiatives.
