SEP 27:The Chief Minister today paid a heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, during a visit to the historic Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. The ashram, which served as the epicenter of India’s freedom struggle between 1917 and 1930, continues to stand as a symbol of truth, non-violence, and simplicity.

On arriving at the ashram, the Chief Minister took a walk through its serene premises, offering prayers and reflecting on the profound ideals that shaped Gandhi’s philosophy and India’s independence movement. He paid homage at the memorial and visited key spots associated with the Mahatma’s life, including Hriday Kunj, the modest residence where Gandhi lived for over a decade.

The Chief Minister described the visit as a deeply humbling experience, remarking that Gandhiji’s message of peace, harmony, and moral courage remains more relevant than ever in today’s world. He underlined the need to imbibe these timeless values in governance and public life, noting that Gandhian thought continues to inspire sustainable development, social justice, and people-centric leadership.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with the ashram authorities, who shared insights into ongoing efforts to preserve the heritage site and promote Gandhian philosophy among the younger generation. The ashram, now a major cultural and educational hub, draws thousands of visitors from across India and the globe who seek to connect with the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pay homage at such a historic landmark and called upon citizens, especially the youth, to draw inspiration from Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence, truth, and selfless service. He emphasized that living by these principles can guide society towards peace, inclusivity, and collective progress.

The visit concluded with a symbolic reaffirmation of commitment to Gandhian values as a guiding light for building a just and compassionate society.
