OCT 18:Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Anantnag to assess the progress of ongoing development projects, the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), and the District CAPEX Budget 2025–26. Senior officers, district officials, and representatives from key departments attended the meeting to present detailed progress reports and discuss measures to overcome implementation challenges.
The Chief Minister emphasized timely and efficient utilization of funds, urging departments to ensure that financial resources are translated into visible developmental outcomes on the ground. He highlighted that every rupee spent must bring measurable benefits to the public, particularly in sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and rural development.
Stressing the need for inter-departmental coordination, Omar Abdullah directed all departments to work in synergy to avoid delays and duplication of efforts. He called for regular review mechanisms to track project milestones, maintain accountability, and accelerate the pace of execution, especially for priority projects that directly impact public welfare.
During the visit, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Tehsil Office at Shangus, a major administrative milestone aimed at enhancing governance accessibility and improving public service delivery in the region. The new facility is expected to streamline revenue administration, reduce public inconvenience, and ensure faster grievance redressal for residents.
Omar Abdullah appreciated the district administration for their efforts in expediting project implementation despite geographical and climatic challenges. He also directed officers to focus on people-centric development, ensuring that government schemes reach the last mile and address local needs effectively.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and efficient governance, the Chief Minister assured full support for strengthening infrastructure and boosting overall development in Anantnag.
The review meeting concluded with a renewed focus on achieving tangible progress under CAPEX and CSS, aligning with the vision of building a modern, inclusive, and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.
