OCT 18:Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level review meeting in Kulgam district to assess the progress of ongoing developmental works under the District CAPEX Budget 2025–26 and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). The meeting brought together senior officers, district officials, and heads of departments to evaluate physical and financial achievements across key sectors including infrastructure, health, education, water supply, and urban development.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of timely completion of projects and strict adherence to quality standards to ensure that developmental benefits reach the grassroots level. He directed officers to closely monitor project timelines and remove bottlenecks that hinder implementation.

Highlighting the need for winter preparedness, Omar Abdullah instructed concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted essential services such as power, water supply, and healthcare during the harsh weather months. He also called for proactive measures to tackle weather-related disruptions and ensure public convenience.

During the review, the Chief Minister laid special focus on efficient fund utilization, urging departments to adopt transparent and accountable financial practices to maximize impact under the CAPEX and CSS components.

In a major step towards improving civic amenities, Omar Abdullah also e-inaugurated several key urban infrastructure projects in Kulgam. These projects aim to strengthen local infrastructure, upgrade public facilities, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

The Chief Minister appreciated the district administration for its efforts in accelerating development works and encouraged them to maintain the momentum through continuous coordination and field-level monitoring.

The review concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, transparent governance, and regionally balanced development. The initiatives undertaken under CAPEX 2025–26 reflect the administration’s vision of creating robust infrastructure and ensuring equitable progress across Jammu and Kashmir.
