SEP 22:In a significant event celebrating the unifying power of sports, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today unveiled the special edition “Peace Jersey” of Real Kashmir FC at the TRC Ground in Srinagar. The jersey, crafted in partnership with renowned Danish sportswear brand Hummel, carries a powerful message of peace, unity, and community engagement across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, CM Omar Abdullah emphasized the profound role of sports in bridging societal divides and fostering collective harmony. “Sports are a vital bridge for peace,” he said, highlighting how initiatives like this can inspire a sense of unity and shared purpose among the people, especially the youth.

The newly launched jersey features a sky-blue base, a color universally associated with peace and calm. The design is inspired by the iconic Hari Parbat Fort, a historic symbol of Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. By incorporating such meaningful elements, the jersey blends local tradition with global sports culture, creating a powerful symbol of pride and peace.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening sports infrastructure in the region. He said that such initiatives are crucial for empowering the youth, providing them with constructive platforms, and showcasing the potential of J&K on national and international stages.

The collaboration between Real Kashmir FC and Hummel reflects a growing recognition of how football and other sports can play a transformative role in conflict-prone regions. It not only uplifts talent but also promotes narratives of peace and resilience.

The event concluded with positive energy and widespread appreciation for the thoughtful design and deeper message behind the jersey. As Real Kashmir FC continues to make waves in Indian football, the Peace Jersey stands as a reminder that sport can indeed be a powerful agent for change.
