OCT 02: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) has undertaken extensive preparations for Special Campaign 5.0, being implemented under the leadership of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign is being conducted in two phases: the Preparatory Phase from 16th–30th September 2025, followed by the Main Phase from 2nd–31st October 2025.
During the preparatory stage, DA&FW identified 753 cleanliness sites across its divisions and subordinate offices. In addition, it reviewed pending matters including 1.71 lakh public grievances, 691 appeals, 29 pending references from Members of Parliament, 14 Parliamentary assurances, and four PMO references. The Department also listed 15,368 files and 609 e-files for review and identified one process for simplification.
Led by Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, IAS, the Department organized cleanliness drives at its premises, including Krishi Bhawan, and encouraged officials to identify e-waste and redundant items for disposal. Employees were also urged to collect e-waste from homes for centralized disposal. Shri Chaturvedi also participated in a DD News programme alongside the Secretary of DARPG, highlighting the role of Special Campaigns in promoting Swachhata and administrative efficiency.
As part of its initiatives, DA&FW will organize a workshop on 9th October 2025 in collaboration with DARPG to sensitize officers on grievance redressal and showcase items created from recycled e-waste.
The campaign reflects the Department’s dual commitment to cleanliness and efficient governance. By addressing long-pending grievances, simplifying processes, and ensuring proper waste management, DA&FW is actively contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Swachh Bharat” and responsive administration.
