JULY 01: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu, marked a moment of pride and encouragement as it concluded the internship programme for the 2nd batch of Mass Communication and New Media students from the Central University of Jammu. The valedictory ceremony witnessed the felicitation of participating students by the Director of Information, Mr. Nitish Rajora, who commended their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication throughout their engagement with the department.

The internship, which lasted several weeks, offered hands-on exposure to the workings of government communication, public relations, press releases, multimedia content creation, and event coverage. It allowed the budding media professionals to understand the real-time challenges and workflows within the public information ecosystem.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajora lauded the efforts of the students and the faculty coordinators from the Central University of Jammu. He emphasized the critical role of media in shaping public opinion and policy awareness in a democratic setup. “This internship is not just a certificate of participation; it’s a step forward in your journey to becoming responsible communicators and storytellers,” said Mr. Rajora. He encouraged the students to explore the dynamic world of digital media, ethics in journalism, and the power of truthful communication in today’s world.

As a mark of recognition, the Director presented certificates of completion to the interns, appreciating their contributions to ongoing departmental activities. Many students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work closely with professionals in the field, saying the experience had significantly enriched their understanding of media governance.

Faculty members from CU Jammu also expressed their thanks to DIPR for its continued support and collaborative spirit in nurturing the next generation of media professionals.

The internship is part of a broader academic initiative by the Central University of Jammu to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industry practices. By partnering with organizations like DIPR, the university aims to ensure that its students graduate not only with knowledge but with practical insights into real-world communication processes.

This successful collaboration between academia and government communication channels sets a benchmark for future engagements that benefit students and institutions alike.
