SEP 26:Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through videoconferencing, emphasizing that government schemes aim at the welfare, empowerment, and economic upliftment of women. He called upon women to share their stories of how these initiatives are bringing positive transformation in society.
Smt. Ranjeeta Kazi, a tribal woman from West Champaran associated with the Jeevika Self Help Group, expressed gratitude to PM Modi and Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar for improving infrastructure and providing access to roads, electricity, sanitation, education, and health facilities. She highlighted the benefits of schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, which provides low-cost gas cylinders, and housing initiatives that have enhanced women’s quality of life. Ranjeeta plans to use her financial support to expand farming and start a flour business with indigenous grains, describing how these measures are paving the way for women to become self-reliant “Lakhpati Didis.”
Smt. Reeta Devi from Bhojpur shared her journey from a small-scale goat and poultry business to establishing a full-fledged enterprise with government support. She credited schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Nal-Jal, and Ayushman Bharat for improving living standards, health, and education access.
Nurjahan Khatoon from Gaya and Putul Devi from Purnea also detailed how the first ₹10,000 installment and subsequent ₹2 lakh support under the employment scheme enabled them to scale businesses, provide employment, and contribute to household prosperity. They praised free electricity, pension increases, and financial access through the Jeevika Bank for empowering women and improving children’s education.
PM Modi lauded the beneficiaries’ determination and entrepreneurial spirit, noting that their stories inspire other women to pursue livelihoods and participate actively in society. He encouraged them to share their experiences with others, reinforcing the transformative impact of government initiatives on women’s empowerment and community development in Bihar.
