SEP 25:The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the 8th edition of its environmental accounts publication, titled “Environmental Accounting on Forest – 2025”, on September 25, 2025. The release took place during the inaugural session of the 29th Conference of Central and State Statistical Organizations (CoCSSO) held in Chandigarh.
This marks MoSPI’s first dedicated report on forest accounting, aligning with the United Nations’ System of Environmental Economic Accounts (SEEA) framework adopted by India in 2018. The report aims to present a comprehensive view of forest ecosystem data across both national and state levels, aiding in informed policy-making and sustainable development planning.
