OCT 24:The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has launched a new digital initiative — the JK Tourism Mobile App, featuring ‘JANNAT’, a smart virtual assistant designed to guide tourists through the breathtaking landscapes and cultural experiences of the Union Territory.
With the tagline “Your J&K Adventure Starts Here!”, the app aims to make travel in Jammu and Kashmir more convenient, interactive, and enriching. The application offers detailed insights into top tourist destinations, local attractions, heritage sites, adventure sports, accommodation options, transport connectivity, and curated travel itineraries.
The highlight of the app is ‘JANNAT’, the intelligent virtual assistant that provides real-time suggestions, answers queries, and helps travelers plan their perfect itinerary. From the serene lakes of Srinagar to the snow-capped peaks of Gulmarg, and from the spiritual calm of Vaishno Devi to the offbeat beauty of Gurez and Bangus, JANNAT serves as a personalized digital guide for every traveler.
Officials from the Tourism Department stated that the initiative aligns with the government’s vision of promoting smart tourism through technology, improving accessibility, and offering a seamless experience to visitors. The app also provides offline features, local cultural insights, and emergency contact information for traveler safety.
Speaking on the launch, a tourism official said, “Jammu and Kashmir is known as Paradise on Earth, and through this app, we aim to bring that paradise closer to the fingertips of every traveler. With JANNAT, exploring J&K becomes not just easier but more meaningful.”
