SEP 05: Angikaar 2025, a nationwide outreach initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0), was launched by Hon’ble Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, in New Delhi on 4th September 2025. The campaign aims to ensure last-mile delivery, fast-track completion of sanctioned houses, and promote awareness of housing benefits among urban citizens.

Present at the launch were Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, MoHUA Secretary Shri Srinivas Katikithala, and JS & Mission Director Shri Kuldip Narayan, among other senior officials.

Angikaar 2025, running from 4th September to 31st October 2025, will be implemented across over 5,000 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). The campaign focuses on door-to-door outreach, application verification, and convergence with key schemes like PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and CRGFTLIH. Special focus will be given to vulnerable and under-served groups.

Under PMAY-U, over 120 lakh houses have been sanctioned, with 94.11 lakh completed. PMAY-U 2.0, launched in September 2024, targets an additional one crore families, offering financial assistance up to ₹2.5 lakh for building or purchasing a pucca house.

As part of the campaign, PMAY-U Awas Diwas will be celebrated on 17th September 2025, marking one year of PMAY-U 2.0. A key highlight will be the “PM Awas Mela – Shehri”, a two-phase anchor event to engage citizens and deliver scheme benefits.

This campaign underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive urban development and its mission of ‘Housing for All’.
