ISRO Expands Satellite-Based Applications in J&K, Boosting Disaster Management and Development

New Delhi, August 7: India’s space technology programme is playing an increasingly important role in development and public services across Jammu & Kashmir, with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) implementing several satellite-based projects in the Union Territory over the past five years.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh informed the Rajya Sabha that these initiatives have covered a wide range of sectors, including disaster management, landslide monitoring, agriculture, water resources, urban planning and broadband connectivity.

The use of satellite technology is helping authorities access crucial information for planning, monitoring and responding to challenges across different parts of Jammu & Kashmir.
