NOV 07: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav, conducted an extensive inspection of civic amenities in various Government Residential Quarters designated for Civil Secretariat employees across Jammu City.

During the visit, Dr. Yadav reviewed sanitation arrangements and interacted with residents to assess issues related to cleanliness, waste management, and mosquito control. He directed officials to ensure proper segregation of dry and wet waste at the household level and to transport the collected waste systematically for scientific disposal at designated sites.

Stressing preventive health measures, Dr. Yadav instructed sanitation and health teams to intensify spraying and fogging operations to prevent mosquito breeding and control the spread of vector-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya. He also emphasized cleaning drains, removing stagnant water, and maintaining proper waste disposal systems.

Reaffirming JMC’s commitment to a clean and disease-free city, the Commissioner urged all sanitation staff to perform their duties diligently and appealed to residents to cooperate by maintaining cleanliness, segregating waste at home, and reporting sanitation issues through JMC’s helpline or mobile app.

He issued on-spot directions to field staff to ensure daily garbage lifting, door-to-door waste collection, and enhanced public awareness on waste segregation and hygiene practices.

Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, along with other senior officers from the JMC Health Section, accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
