NOV 07: The Inter College Men and Women Table Tennis Competition under the aegis of Cluster University of Jammu was successfully held at Government College of Education, Jammu. The event witnessed spirited participation from all five constituent colleges — GGM Science College, SPMR College of Commerce, Government MAM College, PSPS Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, and Government College of Education, Jammu.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the host principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who lauded the Sports Committee for their efforts. Dean, School of Teacher Education, Dr. Zubair Kalees, graced the event as Chief Guest, commending the college for encouraging physical education and co-curricular activities. Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director Physical Education, CUJ, was the Guest of Honour, while Dr. Parihar also served as the Special Guest.
In the men’s category, Government SPMR College of Commerce clinched the title, with Government College of Education as runner-up. In the women’s category, GGM Science College secured the winner’s trophy, while SPMR College of Commerce stood runner-up. Tejashwar Singh (SPMR College) and Bhumika Thakur (GGM Science College) were adjudged Best Players for their exceptional performances.
The matches were officiated by Table Tennis Coach Ajay Ratra (IIT Jammu) and Sakshi (Army Public School, Ratnuchak). The event was efficiently coordinated by Physical Director Ramandeep Kralia. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Shalini Rana, marking a successful celebration of youth sportsmanship and teamwork.
