DEC 30 : Minister Satish Sharma has lauded the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jammu and Kashmir UT Branch, for their significant contribution towards nurturing disciplined, responsible and service-oriented citizens. Emphasising the organisation’s role in shaping the character of young minds, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to supporting youth-centric initiatives across the Union Territory.
Addressing members of the Scouts and Guides, the Minister said that organisations like these play a vital role beyond formal education by instilling values such as discipline, leadership, teamwork and social responsibility among the youth. He noted that such qualities are essential for building a progressive, resilient and inclusive society.
Commitment to Youth Empowerment
Satish Sharma highlighted that the Bharat Scouts and Guides have consistently acted as a platform for holistic youth development, encouraging young people to engage in community service, environmental awareness and nation-building activities. ₹11 Lakh Contribution from CDF
In a significant announcement, Minister Satish Sharma declared a contribution of ₹11 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the Bharat Scouts and Guides, J&K UT Branch. The funding is aimed at strengthening the organisation’s activities and supporting programmes focused on training, leadership development and community outreach.
The Minister said the contribution reflects the government’s recognition of the organisation’s dedicated service and its long-standing impact on society. He expressed confidence that the funds would be utilised effectively to further enhance youth engagement and capacity-building initiatives.
