Minister Satish Sharma Visits GMC Jammu, Reviews Treatment of Kishtwar Cloudburst Victims

Aug 16: In a humanitarian gesture following the tragic cloudburst in Kishtwar district, Minister Satish Sharma visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to meet the injured and assess the medical facilities being provided. The Minister interacted with patients and their families and assured them that the Jammu and Kashmir Government is fully committed to providing top-class medical care and continuous support to all those affected by the natural calamity.

During his visit, Mr. Sharma held discussions with the medical staff and reviewed the arrangements that have been put in place for the injured victims. He commended the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers at GMC Jammu for their dedication, tireless service and prompt response in treating the victims of the devastating cloudburst. He noted that the government’s priority is to ensure the best possible treatment and that no effort will be spared in supporting the injured and their families during this difficult time.

The Minister also emphasised that the administration is monitoring the situation closely and that round-the-clock medical assistance has been arranged for the affected individuals. He reiterated that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir stands firmly with the people in this hour of need and will continue to extend every possible help to ensure their swift recovery.

Expressing his sincere sympathy with the victims, Mr. Sharma said that the government has instructed health authorities to remain alert and coordinate effectively to deal with any further exigencies. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening disaster management preparedness in vulnerable areas of the region.
