Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir:
A comprehensive mock drill was conducted at Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital to strengthen emergency preparedness and response mechanisms in critical healthcare settings.
The exercise was organised by the Fire and Emergency Services Department in coordination with the State Disaster Response Force. The drill aimed to assess readiness and improve coordination during crisis situations such as fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
During the simulation, teams demonstrated fire safety response techniques, evacuation procedures, and the effective use of firefighting equipment. Hospital staff were trained in rescue operations and emergency handling practices to ensure quick and efficient action in real-life scenarios.
Medical Superintendent Shafiq Ahmed Chouhan highlighted the importance of such exercises, stating that regular drills are crucial for ensuring the safety of both patients and healthcare workers. He noted that preparedness can significantly reduce risks and improve outcomes during emergencies.
Participants, including hospital staff and emergency personnel, actively engaged in the training, gaining hands-on experience in managing critical situations. Officials observed the drill closely and provided feedback to enhance future response strategies.
