Jammu, September 25, 2026: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma joined party leaders and workers in paying tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary at the BJP office in Kachchi Chawani, Jammu.
Sat Sharma and other party members offered floral tributes to the former Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader, whose birth anniversary is observed on September 25. Deendayal Upadhyaya was born on September 25, 1916, and was associated with the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the predecessor of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The programme in Jammu was part of events organised by BJP units to commemorate Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary. BJP leaders across the country also marked the occasion with tributes on Friday.
Upadhyaya is particularly associated with the philosophy of Integral Humanism and the concept of Antyodaya. The BJP identifies him as an important ideological figure whose ideas have influenced the party’s political framework.
The Jammu programme brought together party leaders and workers at the Kachchi Chawani office to remember his contribution to the organisation and public life.
Focus on Upadhyaya’s Ideological Legacy
Born in Mathura in 1916, Upadhyaya became an important organiser and leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. His writings and political thought included Integral Humanism, while Antyodaya emphasised the upliftment of the most disadvantaged sections of society.
BJP organisations routinely observe his birth anniversary through commemorative programmes and public tributes. Similar events were held in different parts of the country on September 25 this year.
The Jammu event concluded with party leaders and workers paying their respects to the late Jana Sangh leader and recalling his role in the development of the organisation’s ideological framework.
