Feb 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students during the second video episode of the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, addressing key concerns related to exam stress, anxiety, discipline and the responsible use of technology. The episode, released today, continued the Prime Minister’s effort to make examinations a positive and celebratory experience for students across the country.

During the interaction, Mr Modi encouraged students to think innovatively and begin their entrepreneurial journeys with small start-ups, stating that big ideas often emerge from modest beginnings. He advised students to engage with industry professionals to better understand real-world systems and gain practical exposure beyond classroom learning.

Speaking on the balance between academics and personal passions, the Prime Minister said studies and creative pursuits should not be seen as opposing paths. He underlined that art, music and other creative hobbies play an important role in relieving stress and fatigue caused by academic pressure, and help students maintain emotional well-being.

Emphasising civic responsibility, Mr Modi urged students to adopt disciplined daily behaviour. He highlighted simple yet impactful actions such as avoiding littering and spitting, following traffic rules and preventing food wastage. According to him, responsible individual conduct contributes significantly to nation-building.

Referring to initiatives like Vocal for Local, the Prime Minister said opting for Indian-made products strengthens the domestic economy. He also mentioned the ‘Wed in India’ campaign, encouraging people to celebrate weddings within the country to support local businesses. Mr Modi noted that collective small efforts by citizens will help achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

On the importance of discipline and motivation, the Prime Minister stated that inspiration without discipline is ineffective. He explained that discipline provides direction, while motivation gives strength to continue the journey, making both equally essential for success.

Responding to queries on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, Mr Modi said there is no need to fear technology. Instead, students should learn to use it wisely and responsibly. He described technology as a powerful teacher and encouraged students to use it as a tool for learning, innovation and career growth, rather than becoming overly dependent on it.

The Pariksha Pe Charcha programme aims to reduce exam-related stress and present examinations as an Utsav and a natural part of life. This year’s interactive sessions were held with Exam Warriors in Devmogra, Coimbatore, Raipur, Guwahati and at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.

According to the Ministry of Education, over 4.5 crore students, teachers and parents registered for the programme through the MyGov portal. Conceptualised by the Prime Minister, Pariksha Pe Charcha aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, promoting confidence, positivity and holistic well-being among students.

The programme is being telecast on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel, Doordarshan, Akashvani, Ministry of Education’s social media platforms and the WAVES OTT platform.
