AUG 06: In the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and ahead of Independence Day 2025, GLDM Government Degree College, Hiranagar organized a vibrant Run for Unity and an Awareness Rally under the banner of #HarGharTiranga. The event brought together students, faculty, and community members in a collective expression of national pride, unity, and responsible citizenship.
Participants carried the Tricolour with pride as they marched through the college campus and nearby localities, raising slogans and spreading awareness about the Har Ghar Tiranga movement, which encourages every Indian to hoist the national flag at home from 13th to 15th August 2025.
The rally and run aimed to instill a sense of belonging and patriotism among students and the local youth. It also served as a reminder of the significance of the Indian national flag and the sacrifices made for the country’s freedom. Faculty members and NSS volunteers played a vital role in organizing the event and ensuring active participation.
Speaking on the occasion, college authorities emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in engaging young citizens with the nation’s democratic and cultural values. They lauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to become flag-bearers of unity and national integration.
This initiative at GDC Hiranagar, under the District Administration Kathua and with support from @diprjk and local leadership including @mrvimudegra, aligns with the larger national campaign to mark India’s 79th Independence Day.
The #RunForUnity and #HarGharTiranga rally not only celebrated patriotism but also fostered a spirit of unity and community engagement among the youth—ensuring the Tricolour remains a living symbol in every Indian home.
