Jammu: The Muay Thai Association of Jammu & Kashmir (MAJK) organised an appreciation ceremony to honour young athletes who brought pride to Jammu and Kashmir by securing around 19 medals at the Muay Thai National Youth Championship.

The felicitation ceremony recognised the dedication, discipline and hard work of the young players who represented the Union Territory at the national-level competition. Their performance was appreciated as an encouraging sign for the growing interest in combat sports among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sahil Aggarwal Encourages Youth to Choose Sports

Speaking on the occasion, Sahil Aggarwal, Chief Patron of the Muay Thai Association of Jammu & Kashmir, highlighted the important role sports can play in shaping the lives of young people.

Sahil Aggarwal said the ceremony was organised to acknowledge the athletes who represented Jammu and Kashmir and contributed to the region’s sporting reputation through their performances.

He encouraged youngsters to devote more time to sports and physical activities, particularly at a time when excessive dependence on electronic gadgets has become a growing concern.

According to Sahil Aggarwal, participation in sports can provide young people with a constructive environment while helping them develop important qualities such as confidence, discipline, teamwork and perseverance.

He also emphasised that keeping youngsters actively involved in sports can help protect them from drug abuse and other social evils. Regular participation in sporting activities can give youth a positive goal to work towards while creating a stronger sense of responsibility and self-discipline.

Young Muay Thai Athletes Bring Laurels to J&K

The medal-winning athletes were felicitated for their performances at the Muay Thai National Youth Championship.

Competing at the national level requires physical preparation, mental strength and consistent training. The performance of the J&K contingent, which returned with around 19 medals, reflects the determination of the young players and the growing enthusiasm for Muay Thai in the region.

For many young athletes, such competitions also provide an opportunity to gain experience by competing against players from different parts of the country.

The recognition given by MAJK is expected to further motivate the medal winners to continue their training and aim for stronger performances in upcoming championships.

Amit Singh Congratulates Medal Winners

MAJK President Amit Singh congratulated all the students who won medals at the national championship.

He appreciated their efforts and wished them continued success in future competitions. Amit Singh also reiterated the association’s commitment to supporting athletes and helping them improve their performances.

The association aims to provide encouragement and opportunities to young players so that they can develop their abilities and compete at higher levels.

Sports as a Positive Path for Young People

The message delivered at the ceremony went beyond the achievements of the medal winners.

With young people spending increasing amounts of time on smartphones, gaming platforms and social media, sports can provide a healthy alternative that combines physical activity with discipline and social interaction.

Combat sports such as Muay Thai can be particularly demanding, requiring athletes to maintain fitness, follow training routines and develop mental resilience. These habits can extend beyond the sporting arena and influence other aspects of a young person’s life.

For Jammu and Kashmir, promoting sports at the grassroots level can also help create more opportunities for talented youngsters who want to pursue athletics and competitive sports.

MAJK’s Focus on Developing Young Talent

The appreciation ceremony reflects the importance of recognising young athletes for their achievements.

For emerging players, encouragement from sporting organisations, coaches, families and the wider community can play an important role in sustaining their motivation.

The success of the J&K athletes at the national championship also provides an opportunity to build greater interest in Muay Thai and other sports among youngsters across the region.

With continued support and structured training, young athletes can aspire to compete at higher national and international levels.

A Message Beyond the Medal Count

While the around 19 medals won at the national championship are an important achievement, the larger message from the ceremony was the role of sports in youth development.

Sahil Aggarwal’s emphasis on keeping youngsters engaged in sports reflects the broader need to create positive avenues for the younger generation. Sports can offer a combination of physical fitness, discipline, friendship, competition and personal growth.

The felicitation of the Muay Thai athletes therefore celebrated not only their medals but also the effort and commitment behind those achievements.

As Jammu and Kashmir continues to witness growing participation in sports, the success of these young Muay Thai athletes can serve as motivation for others to step onto the sporting field and pursue their own goals.
