New Delhi, September 6, 2026: The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has arrived in Egypt to participate in the 2nd El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled to take place from September 8 to 10, 2026, at El Alamein International Airport.
The participation marks another significant international engagement for the Indian Air Force and is expected to showcase India’s growing capabilities in military aviation while strengthening defence and diplomatic relations between India and Egypt.
Sarang to Showcase Precision Flying
Known for its highly demanding aerial displays, the Sarang team will demonstrate the precision, discipline and coordination of its pilots through a series of choreographed helicopter manoeuvres.
The team operates the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv), highlighting both the flying expertise of IAF personnel and the capabilities of India’s domestic aerospace industry.
Sarang is recognised as the world’s only five-helicopter display team, making its performances a distinctive feature of international airshows.
‘Dolphin Leap’ Among Key Attractions
The Sarang team will perform its signature “Dolphin Leap” manoeuvre during the Egyptian airshow.
It will also introduce a new aerial sequence, the “Spot Stall Turn”, adding another element to its display programme.
The close-proximity formations, synchronised movements and demanding manoeuvres are designed to demonstrate the agility and versatility of the ALH Dhruv while reflecting the high level of training required for precision helicopter displays.
Strengthening India-Egypt Defence Engagement
The team’s participation carries significance beyond aviation entertainment, providing an opportunity for closer interaction between Indian and international air force teams participating in the event.
The El Alamein International Airshow brings together air forces, aviation professionals and representatives from the aerospace, defence and space sectors from different parts of the world.
