SEP 02: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, laid the e-foundation stone for the construction of the Teachers Quarters at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khull, DH Pora, in Kulgam district.
Highlighting the importance of proper accommodation facilities for educators, the Minister said the new infrastructure will not only provide teachers with a dignified place to stay but also motivate talented staff to work in rural and far-flung regions. She noted that comfortable housing plays a vital role in boosting teacher morale, which directly impacts the quality of education imparted to students.
Sakeena Itoo underlined that the government remains committed to strengthening the education sector, especially in remote districts, so that students there receive the same opportunities as those in urban centers. She added that initiatives like the Teachers Quarters would address long-standing issues of staff retention in rural schools and help bridge the education gap.
The Minister also praised the efforts of the local administration and education department in prioritizing projects that have a direct impact on teaching standards. She reiterated the government’s focus on providing modern facilities, better infrastructure, and supportive work environments for teachers to ensure overall academic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
The foundation of Teachers Quarters at GHSS Khull is expected to set an example for similar projects in other rural areas, ultimately creating a positive atmosphere for both educators and students.
