The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, yoga practitioners, government officials, and citizens alike, coming together to embrace the ancient Indian practice that unites body, mind, and soul.
The highlight of the event was the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Guest, who addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, stating, “Honoured to be the Chief Guest at the International Yoga Day celebrations in Jammu today. Yoga is India’s timeless gift to the world — a path to harmony, health & inner peace. Let us embrace it as a way of life.”
The celebration was aligned with the global theme of this year’s Yoga Day, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, highlighting the intrinsic link between individual well-being and the planet’s health. The day began with a synchronized yoga session led by certified instructors, where participants performed various asanas and breathing exercises with great enthusiasm, set against the tranquil backdrop of Jammu’s cultural heritage.
As part of the event, the Chief Guest also emphasized yoga’s increasing relevance in today’s fast-paced world. Citing its scientifically proven benefits in managing stress, anxiety, and lifestyle disorders, the address encouraged citizens of all ages to integrate yoga into their daily routines.
Special yoga demonstrations by school children, women groups, and members of the armed forces showcased the inclusivity of the practice. Officials from the Ministry of AYUSH and local administration praised the growing acceptance of yoga not just as a fitness regimen but as a holistic approach to life.
The program concluded with a collective pledge by participants to promote yoga in their communities and keep alive India’s ancient legacy that continues to inspire millions worldwide.
