Mar 12: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Tuesday held a preliminary review meeting to assess the status of preparations for the upcoming Census 2027 and strengthen coordination among departments involved in the nationwide exercise.
The meeting took place at the SMC headquarters in Srinagar and was chaired by Nuzhat Qureshi, City Census Officer (Urban). Suhail Ul Islam, Census Charge Officer (Urban), also participated in the meeting along with officials representing several line departments linked to the census process.
Focus on Coordination and Planning
During the meeting, officials held detailed discussions on the operational framework required for the smooth conduct of the census in the urban areas of Srinagar. The deliberations focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination, verifying available data records and ensuring logistical arrangements necessary for the large-scale exercise.
