SEP 28:Addressing an enthusiastic gathering of brothers and sisters from the Pahari Tribal community, I had the honor of highlighting the remarkable transformation unfolding across tribal belts of Jammu & Kashmir under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The gathering reflected the vibrant energy, cultural richness, and determination of the Pahari community to embrace opportunities that are shaping their future.
Over the past few years, the Government of India has taken unprecedented steps to ensure that historically marginalized tribal communities receive their rightful place in the nation’s progress. Special focus has been laid on education, healthcare, infrastructure, political representation, and preservation of cultural identity. The Pahari community, long known for its resilience and contribution to the region’s diversity, is now witnessing the fruits of inclusive governance.
With the extension of constitutional rights and the recognition of the Pahari community as Scheduled Tribes, doors of new possibilities have opened. From access to educational reservations and employment opportunities to welfare schemes designed specifically for tribal empowerment, these initiatives are helping young men and women dream bigger and achieve more.
Connectivity to remote areas, establishment of schools, health centers, and road networks have further integrated tribal belts into the mainstream developmental journey of Jammu & Kashmir. Women and youth, in particular, are emerging as key drivers of this transformation, actively participating in self-help groups, skill development programs, and entrepreneurship ventures.
The interaction with the community was also a moment to celebrate their traditions, values, and aspirations. While modernization brings growth, equal emphasis is being placed on protecting the cultural heritage and language of the Pahari tribes, ensuring that development does not dilute their identity but rather strengthens it.
The event reaffirmed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji, the Pahari Tribal community is not just a beneficiary of change but a proud contributor to the larger story of “Naya Jammu & Kashmir.” The journey ahead is filled with promise, and together, we shall script a future of dignity, empowerment, and prosperity for every tribal family.
