SEP 15:Minister Sakeena Itoo attended a Blood Donation and Wellness Camp held in Srinagar, where she emphasized the vital role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. The event saw enthusiastic participation from youth, healthcare workers, and local residents, all coming together for a cause rooted in compassion and public health.

Speaking at the camp, the Minister urged the younger generation to take active part in such noble initiatives, calling blood donation not just a civic responsibility, but a lifesaving gesture that directly impacts lives in emergency and medical situations.

“Each drop of blood donated can help save a life. I appeal to our youth to come forward and lead this humanitarian mission. Their involvement is crucial for building a healthier and more compassionate society,” she said.

Minister Itoo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility, upgrade medical facilities, and improve patient care services, especially in remote and underserved areas.

She also appreciated the healthcare professionals, NGOs, and volunteers who played an essential role in organizing the wellness camp. Free health checkups, awareness sessions, and counseling services were also part of the initiative, making it a holistic event focused on both preventive and emergency healthcare.

“Blood donation is not just about emergencies—it reflects the spirit of community care. We are proud to see such participation and will continue supporting such initiatives at every level,” the Minister noted.

The event also aimed to spread awareness about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, with wellness activities focusing on regular health screenings, fitness, and mental well-being.

Minister Itoo concluded her address by assuring continued governmental support for public health programs, and reiterated that the development of a robust healthcare system remains a top priority for the administration.
