SEP 15:In response to the recent flooding in parts of the region, Minister Satish Sharma conducted an on-ground assessment of the affected Samwan and Kharah Balli blocks. The visit aimed to evaluate the extent of damage and review the status of essential supplies and relief measures being extended to the impacted communities.
During his visit, the Minister interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns, and took note of the immediate needs of families affected by the floods. He assessed the availability of food, drinking water, medical aid, and temporary shelter arrangements, ensuring that all necessary services were reaching those in need.
Minister Sharma directed local administration and relief teams to adopt a proactive approach to ensure that no household suffers due to lack of essentials or delay in aid. “We cannot afford to wait for complaints to come in. Relief must reach every doorstep before the need becomes desperate,” he emphasized.
He instructed officials to carry out swift damage assessments and ensure that compensation and assistance reach affected families without delay. Special attention was also directed towards vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and those with disabilities, to make sure their needs are specifically addressed during the ongoing relief efforts.
The Minister assured the public that the government is fully committed to mitigating the crisis and providing timely support. “Our teams are on the ground, and we are monitoring the situation closely. Immediate steps will be taken to restore normalcy and prevent further hardship,” he stated.
Minister Sharma also praised the dedication of the rescue teams, local volunteers, and officials working round-the-clock to handle the crisis.
The visit served as a reassurance to the flood-affected communities that the government stands with them during this difficult time and is actively working to provide swift and effective relief.
