JULY 04: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha warmly received Master Amaan Khan, a 12-year-old Wushu prodigy from Baramulla, at Raj Bhawan. Amaan recently brought pride to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir by securing a Bronze medal at the 25th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held in Tamil Nadu.

During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor lauded Amaan for his exceptional performance and dedication at such a young age. He congratulated the young athlete on his national-level achievement and wished him continued success in future competitions.

Shri Sinha commended Amaan’s determination, discipline, and the hard work he has shown in the field of Wushu—a martial art that demands intense training, agility, and mental focus. He noted that Amaan’s victory is not only a personal triumph but also an inspiration for other young athletes across the region.

“Amaan has made the entire Union Territory proud. His medal at a national event is a testimony to the talent and potential that exists in our youth. We are committed to supporting such young champions in every possible way,” the Lieutenant Governor said during the interaction.

Hailing from the Baramulla district in North Kashmir, Amaan Khan has emerged as one of the promising faces in Indian Wushu. Despite his young age, his dedication to the sport has already begun to draw national attention.

The Lieutenant Governor also emphasized the importance of promoting sports among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and assured that the administration will continue to provide infrastructure, coaching, and other necessary facilities to help budding athletes achieve their dreams.

Amaan Khan, accompanied by his parents and coach, expressed gratitude for the recognition and encouragement from the highest office in the UT. He shared his aspirations of winning more medals for the country and representing India at international platforms in the future.

The event highlighted the growing emphasis on sports development in Jammu and Kashmir and the government’s commitment to nurturing talent from all corners of the region.
