JULY 04: A high-level meeting was held on July 4 with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah, to review the progress of various schemes under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The focus of the discussion was to ensure the effective implementation of central government schemes and to make sure their benefits reach the last mile—especially the farmers and rural communities.
On this occasion, a special booklet titled ‘Har Didi Ek Kahani’ was formally released. This inspiring publication highlights the success stories of “Lakhpati Didis”—women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) who, through hard work, innovation, and entrepreneurship, have transformed their lives and become role models for others. Each story in the booklet is a powerful example of how rural women are breaking barriers and leading their communities toward self-reliance and growth.
In addition to the review and release event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also exchanged to promote innovation and institutional collaboration in the fields of agriculture and rural development. This MoU is aimed at fostering sustainable development, improving farming techniques, and creating new livelihood opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir.
Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Jammu & Kashmir is witnessing a new wave of growth and transformation. The central government is committed to empowering the people of the region—especially farmers and women—by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support systems.
We are working as a dedicated team to ensure that every village becomes self-sufficient and that our farmer brothers and sisters are empowered through the benefits of modern agriculture and rural development schemes. Today’s meeting was a reflection of this collective effort toward building a prosperous and self-reliant Jammu & Kashmir.
