Awareness Workshop on Awas Plus 2.0 Held at Block Bhalwal
April 18, Bhalwal: The Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj today organized a one-day block-level workshop cum awareness programme on Awas Plus 2.0 (PMAY-G) at Block Headquarters, Bhalwal. The session aimed to educate the public about the scheme’s objectives, benefits, and implementation strategies.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Chairman District Development Council, Bharat Bhushan, and MLA Jammu North, Sham Lal Sharma. It witnessed participation from many PMAY-G beneficiaries and Ex-PRI members of Block Bhalwal.
Block Development Officer Dr. Sunil Sharma shared that 221 houses have been constructed in the block under PMAY-G till March 31, 2025, and surveys have been conducted for 931 households across all 24 Panchayats.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Jammu, Dr. Vikas Sharma, presented a detailed briefing on PMAY-G’s progress in the district and emphasized that April 30, 2025, is the final date for registration under Awas Plus 2.0.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sham Lal Sharma congratulated beneficiaries and credited the government for its support to rural households. He emphasized integrated development through other schemes such as SBM-G, PMUY, and Jal Jeevan Mission, and urged Ex-PRI members to actively support the identification of eligible beneficiaries.
Chairman DDC Bharat Bhushan highlighted the government’s continued commitment to uplifting the underprivileged by facilitating access to housing and sanitation. He also called on Ex-PRI members to work closely with field officials to ensure inclusive coverage.
Beneficiaries and former PRI members appreciated the initiative, calling it an effective platform for spreading awareness about Awas Plus 2.0.
