April 18: India’s participation in GITEX Africa 2025, held in Marrakesh, Morocco, underscores its commitment to fostering global digital innovation and inclusive growth. Represented by Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, the three-day event provided a platform for policy leaders and innovators to discuss collaborative opportunities.

During the summit, Shri Chaudhary highlighted India’s transformative Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including Aadhaar, UPI, ONDC, and DigiLocker. He emphasized the integration of advanced technologies like AI, cybersecurity, and fintech into India’s skilling ecosystem. The Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), onboarded with over one crore users in just over a year, exemplifies India’s leadership in digital innovation. Shri Chaudhary also noted India’s significant growth in AI talent, with a 33.39% year-on-year increase in AI hiring, as per the AI Stanford Index 2025.

On the sidelines, Shri Chaudhary engaged in bilateral meetings with key African ministers to explore synergies in AI, research, and capacity building. Discussions focused on leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure to drive inclusion, innovation, and equitable growth.
