MAY 04: Reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable livelihood generation, the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) of Kishtwar, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan, approved 67 new cases under the flagship Mission Youth initiative during a meeting held.
This significant move encompasses various scheme components aimed at promoting financial independence and entrepreneurship among the district’s youth. Of the total cases approved, 35 fall under the Mumkin Scheme, 8 under the Tejaswini Scheme, and 24 under the Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI). These schemes collectively focus on financial assistance, infrastructure support, and skill development to help the youth pursue self-employment and establish sustainable businesses.
The meeting began with a detailed presentation by Shafqat Ali Keen, Assistant Director Employment, who provided a comprehensive overview of the various schemes under the Mission Youth umbrella. He highlighted their success in reaching rural and urban youth, and emphasized the administration’s role in simplifying access to financial and institutional support.
During the session, DC Rajesh Kumar Shavan engaged directly with several beneficiaries who have availed or are in the process of availing loans under these schemes. He reassured them of continued support from the district administration and urged them to make optimal use of the opportunities provided. He emphasized that empowering the youth is critical for social stability and long-term economic development.
To further enhance employability, especially under the Mumkin Scheme, the Deputy Commissioner nominated the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Tasleem Wani, as the Nodal Officer for initiating a Driving Training Course. This skill-based training will not only improve employment prospects but also complement the vehicle-based entrepreneurship supported under the Mumkin scheme.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the district administration for its proactive approach in delivering youth-centric schemes and pledged to contribute to community development by leveraging the support effectively.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Planning Officer Shahnawaz Bali, ARTO Tasleem Wani, Lead District Manager, and other key stakeholders from relevant departments.
This wave of approvals under Mission Youth marks a substantial step toward building a self-reliant, skilled, and empowered generation in Kishtwar.
